How can Vetsy help your pet?
Vetsy is a digital vet service that offers video appointments to pet owners for advice and guidance. Video calls with our vets are suitable for non-urgent conditions including rashes, allergies, pain management, behavioural concerns, nutritional advice, new-
pet or general pet health and wellness.
Whether it is for peace of mind, a second opinion or ongoing management for chronic ailments, have an appointment that suits you with one of our vets and receive the gold standard of virtual veterinary care from the comfort of your own home.
What happens if my pet needs prescription?
After your consultation we can send you a prescription via email, where you can purchase the required treatment from an online veterinary pharmacy of your choice. The cost of prescriptions is included in your booking fee.
Please note we are unable to prescribe antibiotics, anti-viral,
anti-fungal or anti-parasitic medications as per current RCVS guidelines.
What happens if you can't help my pet?
We see telemedicine as complementary to in-clinic care. In certain cases, due to the remote nature of our service, we may recommend that your pet is seen by a vet in person. If our online vets feel this is in your pet’s best interest, we can send all clinical history across to a “brick and mortar” clinic to provide appropriate ongoing care.
When should I use Vetsy vs see an in-person vet?
If your pet is suffering from any of the following symptoms it is advised you should seek face to face veterinary care; open wounds, swollen abdomen, breathing difficulties, vomiting or diarrhoea for more than 24 hours, abdominal pain, or suspected toxin exposure.
We can always triage such cases to determine whether a physical exam is necessary for the well-being of the animal.
How much does a Vetsy consultation cost?
Vetsy appointments are £40 which includes the appointment with the vet, action plan after the call and prescriptions required.
How does the service work?
Vetsy is an online vet; to book an appointment create an account and book a consultation.
As with a routine consultation, our vets will listen to your concerns, discuss your pet's symptoms, gain a full clinical history and assess your pet via a video call.
You can also send photos or videos if needed to review in advance or at the time of your appointment. Our vets will then formulate a treatment plan or advise you on appropriate next steps.
This approach allows us to have a more in depth discussion with the owner than in often possible in the clinic setting.
