Vetsy is a digital vet service that offers video appointments to pet owners for advice and guidance. Video calls with our vets are suitable for non-urgent conditions including rashes, allergies, pain management, behavioural concerns, nutritional advice, new-pet or general pet health and wellness.Whether it is for peace of mind, a second opinion or ongoing management for chronic ailments, have an appointment that suits you with one of our vets and receive the gold standard of virtual veterinary care from the comfort of your own home.
After your consultation we can send you a prescription via email, where you can purchase the required treatment from an online veterinary pharmacy of your choice. The cost of prescriptions is included in your booking fee. Please note we are unable to prescribe antibiotics, anti-viral, anti-fungal or anti-parasitic medications as per current RCVS guidelines.
Our Vetsy promise is that if we can't help your pet and you need to see a vet in person we will refund you the cost of your appointment. We see telemedicine as complementary to in-clinic care. In certain cases, due to the remote nature of our service, we may recommend that your pet is seen by a vet in person. If our online vets feel this is in your pet’s best interest, we can send all clinical history across to a “brick and mortar” clinic to provide appropriate ongoing care.
If your pet is suffering from any of the following symptoms it is advised you should seek face to face veterinary care; open wounds, swollen abdomen, breathing difficulties, vomiting or diarrhoea for more than 24 hours, abdominal pain, or suspected toxin exposure. We can always triage such cases to determine whether a physical exam is necessary for the well-being of the animal.
Vetsy appointments are £39 which includes the appointment with the vet, action plan after the call and prescriptions required.
Vetsy is an online vet; to book an appointment create an account and book a consultation. As with a routine consultation, our vets will listen to your concerns, discuss your pet's symptoms, gain a full clinical history and assess your pet via a video call. You can also send photos or videos if needed to review in advance or at the time of your appointment. Our vets will then formulate a treatment plan or advise you on appropriate next steps. This approach allows us to have a more in depth discussion with the owner than is often possible in the clinic setting.
Should you need to cancel your Vetsy appointment for any reason, please emai hello@myvetsy.co.uk.
If you have any follow up questions you can either send the vet a message through your profile or email hello@myvetsy.co.uk quoting your appointment reference number.
Following your consultation, our vets will send you an aftercare plan and any required written prescriptions you need. Simply head to an online pharmacy of your choice, to order the medication and upload the prescription directly. The pharmacy will process your order. Please note it can take at least 2 days for the processing. The speed of prescriptions is influenced by Royal Mail, so may take longer. If you have not heard from the pharmacy within 24 hours, please do not hesitate to contact them directly.
If you're unable to book an appointment or have an emergency, please contact our out-of-hours provider, Arun Veterinary Group / South Downs Emergency Vets, based in Chichester; 01243 978800.
Our Practice covers a 60 minute drive radius of Chichester or Storrington, which is most areas in Sussex and Hampshire. Anything beyond these limits is too far for our service, as it means we can't provide adequate out-of-hours care.
We recommend you stay registered at your current practice as there are limitations to online care and it is important you remain registered at a brick and mortar vets.
Say goodbye to the stressful journeys and waiting rooms and skip directly to the appointment.
